Is PrivateMind an agentic AI?
Yes — with one important distinction. PrivateMind is a private agentic AI: it monitors your world, learns from your work, and prepares things before you ask. By design, it never acts without your explicit approval. But if you want more autonomy, you can configure it to act on your behalf for specific tasks. You stay in control of how much control you give it. We call this agentic by design, safe by default.
Does it really work completely offline?
Yes. After the initial model download (done once, on first launch), PrivateMind makes zero network connections. You can disconnect your internet and it works identically.
What PC do I need?
Windows 10 or 11, and at least 10GB free disk space. No GPU required — PrivateMind runs on any modern laptop or desktop CPU.
8GB RAM — works well for everyday chat, document Q&A, and PII scanning. Responses are comfortable to read as they stream.
16GB RAM (recommended) — noticeably faster responses, handles larger documents, and allows a more capable AI model to run. This is the sweet spot for professional use — most modern laptops ship with 16GB.
32GB RAM — unlocks the largest local models for the highest quality responses. Worth it if you already have the hardware.
An NVIDIA GPU accelerates responses significantly if you have one, but it is never required. Intel Arc and AMD GPUs are not currently supported for acceleration — CPU mode is used automatically.
Is this GDPR compliant?
Because nothing ever leaves your PC, there is no data transfer, no data processor relationship, and no cloud storage to worry about. Your client data stays on your machine under your control.
What does the beta cost?
Beta access is completely free. When PrivateMind launches publicly it will be a one-time purchase — no subscription, ever. Beta users will receive a significant loyalty discount at launch.
How is this different from just running Ollama?
Ollama is a command-line tool for developers. PrivateMind is a complete application built for professionals — with a proper interface, document Q&A, personal memory, PII scanning, and no command line required.
